I've been taking photos for as long as I can remember. At school I did photography as an elective and spent hours in the darkroom developing photos. Falling into a career in travel meant that I never went anywhere without a camera and consequently I have taken thousands of photos as my own visual diary of life.
Most photos never see the light of day. However, I regularly look back to see where I've been, the adventures, the memories of a life full of color, exploring, friends and a big wide world that I think is easy to forget in our ordinary day to day life. Take the ordinary and make it memorable!
I am drawn to movement, light and capturing memories. Kids never look at a photo of themselves and judge what they see. This is something I love to see, they just want to see themselves. My photography style is always leaning towards candid, subtle, where someone isn't aware that a photo is being taken so that it captures them in a moment where they are themselves.
Cycling photography became 'a thing I did' because I wanted to be a part of a community without having to race. I wanted to give something back to those who challenged themselves to race and to capture them doing something that they loved, while I did something that I loved.
I love being at family events capturing the moment, taking photos while traveling and being a part of the journey.
